Betty “Joyce” Dixon Burroughs, 77, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Burroughs at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 217 Bethlehem Church Road, Lenox, Georgia, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Glenn Ford will officiate.
Ross Fulghum, Brandon Montgomery, Caleb Clements, Kevin Clements, Todd Bruce and Jimmy Clements will serve as pallbearers.
Born October 20, 1947, in Lenox, Mrs. Burroughs was the daughter of the late Robert Dixon and Sara Brown Dixon. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, DeeDee Fulghum; one sister, Hazel Marchant; and one sister-in-law, Theresa Dixon. Before retiring, she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 40 years in Pediatrics. She loved to sew and work with flowers in her yard. She was of the Baptist faith. She was lovingly known as “KiKi” to her grandchildren.
Mrs. Burroughs is survived by her husband, Paul Burroughs of Tifton; one son, Dr. Dale Tucker of Jacksonville, Florida; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Coy and Mary Dixon and Bobby Dixon, all of Cary, North Carolina; two grandchildren and their spouses, Ross and Kathy Fulghum and Lauren and Brandon Montgomery, all of Tifton; and four great-grandchildren, Keigan Montgomery, Kason Montgomery, Bellamy Fulghum and Loxley Fulghum.
