Lina Federico Crugnale of Medford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Ospedale Civile Santo Spirito in Pescara, Abruzzo, Italy on March 17th. She was 93. Born in Introdacqua, L'Aquila, Abruzzo, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Maria Federico.
Lina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Growing up in Italy, she met the love of her life, Ugo Crugnale. They married and started their family in Abruzzo. When they first came to the United States, they settled in Boston’s North End. In 1983 they moved to Medford, where Lina made people feel welcome in her beautiful home. She was always happy when family and friends would partake of her cooking. She also worked for many years as a seamstress at Forecaster of Boston. After Ugo passed away in 2019, Lina started spending a lot more time in her native Abruzzo, traveling there with her daughter and visiting relatives.
The beloved wife of the late Ugo Crugnale, Lina was a devoted mother to Rosa Trozzi and her husband Graziano and Domenic Crugnale and his companion Maria Caruso. She was a loving grandmother to Francesca and Stefano. Lina was a dear sister to the late Enrico Federico. She is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Saturday, March 29th from 8 AM to 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10 AM. Services will conclude with entombment at Saint Michael Cemetery Mausoleum, Boston.
