Kelley, Paul V. passed peacefully on March 23, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones.
Son of Helena and James Kelley of South Boston, Brother of the late James Kelley of South Boston and Quincy and the late Margaret Hines of West Roxbury and former spouse of the late Janice M. Kelley (Lee) of Quincy and Naples.
Paul was a lifelong resident of South Boston and was proud to call Southie home. Paul was honored to serve his country as a member of the Marine Corps. He was also proud of his career at Boston Juvenile Court where he was First Assistant Chief Probation Officer. He loved his family, friends, vacations and watching hockey. He had a zest for life and loved to live life to the fullest. He had a love of traveling and helped plan many legendary trips to Ireland. He also spent many winters in his home away from home, Lauderdale By The Sea, Florida at the Driftwood. He was an avid boater in his early years and a Lifetime member of the South Boston Yacht Club. He was also a member of the Quincy Elks and the Morrisette Post.
Paul leaves behind his dear friend Karen Casey of Dorchester, his three daughters Judy Beers and her partner Scott Whitten of Naples, Florida, Nancy Serpis and her husband Greg of Hampton, New Hampshire, and Stacey Tirabassi and her husband Edmund of South Boston. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren Jessica Mintz and her husband Julian of Westport, Connecticut, Malcolm Beers and his wife Lauren of Falmouth, Brenna Guez and her husband Ben of Houston, Texas, Gordon Serpis and his wife Erin of Waynesboro, PA, the late Kelley Serpis, Matthew Serpis of Portsmouth, NH and Sophia, Emma and Eddie Tirabassi of South Boston. He also leaves behind 8 amazing great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and more friends than we could ever name.
Paul was 90 years old at the time of his passing. He loved being surrounded by his many friends and family and he could tell a story like no other. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
A celebration of his life will be held on April 19, 2025 from 1-5 at the Quincy Elks in the Quarry Hall.
