Jean Baggs Taylor peacefully passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Brockton Hospital/ Beacon Hospice. Before that she was happily enjoying her home in Whitman since 1951. She is survived by her three children Linda, Myna, and Joe and her stepson Wayne. She was married to the late Joseph L. Baggs Jr and the late Richard B. Taylor.
Jean graduated from Melrose, MA High School and Colby Junior College in New London, NH. She graduated with a degree as an Aeronautical Secretary and worked at Logan Airport before she was married and moved to Whitman. She stayed home raising her children then worked as a secretary at the Congregational Church in Whitman and at Hayward-Boynton and Williams in Brockton.
For many years she was a dedicated and active member of the Christian Science Church in Brockton and Bridgewater. She also loved traveling, reading, and working in her garden. Her flowers were her pride and joy and she enjoyed sharing bouquets with her church, family, and friends.
The family will celebrate her life at a later date. Her ashes will be taken to the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In her memory, please enjoy a bouquet in your home and / or plant some flowers.
