Helen Stanfield Thomas, 91, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Saturday, March 22, 2025, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Ocilla Church of God in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Josh Bowles officiating. Interment will follow in the Thomas Family Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Thomas was born January 15, 1934, in Waycross, Georgia, to the late William W. & Arlie M. Teston Stanfield. She attended Ware County High School. She worked in quality control for Shaw Industries, Modern Fibers, and Irwin Manufacturing. Following retirement, she enjoyed being a homemaker and caretaker. She loved traveling and camping, especially in the mountains. Mrs. Thomas was a hard worker, a devoted wife and mother, and a big fan of visiting yard sales and eating at Golden Corral. She was baptized at and attended Ocilla Church of God.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Linda & Bob Youngblood of Fitzgerald, Billy & Kim Rodgers of Fitzgerald, Stevie Thomas of Ocilla, Glenda Williamson of Ocilla, Amy & Chuck Goins of TyTy, Joseph Thomas of Ocilla, and Marlene & Shane Aldridge of Wray; a brother, Vernie “Bill” Stanfield of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; many grandkids, nieces and nephews including a special great-grandson, Jace Aldridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Drewey Lamar Thomas; a daughter, Vickie Thomas; a son-in-law, Bobby Williamson; a grandson, Charles Justin Thomas; and a son, Drew Thomas.
