Obituary

Kenneth R. Bowser Sr., 88, of Halifax passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

Born in Brockton August 7, 1936, son of the late Kenneth S, Bowser, and Lillian (Davis) Bowser. Kenneth attended and graduated from Rockland High School in 1954. After graduating high school, Ken went on to serve our country in the United States Army from 1955-1963. He served proudly for eight years, serving in middle and far east countries. Returning home, Ken decided to further his education and received his associates degree at Massasoit. Later on, he took classes at Stone Hill College and Bridgewater State College. Ken had several jobs throughout his career, such as working at the Foxboro Company as a purchaser, and working with Lion Precision as a purchasing manager. He was also an environmental officer for task force for Lead Law, working for the EPA.

Ken was very involved in his community, he was a very active member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and several boards for the church. Ken was also a member of the Wampatuck Lodge where he served as Past Master, and Past Master 29th Lodge of Instruction. He had leadership positions for the Old Colony Association of American Baptist Churches, such as a Moderator and Board of Nominating Committees. Ken also spent his time managing the Braves Little League team, the Boy Scouts Committee, and bowling with the league at the Hanson AA at Alley Cat Lanes.

Kenneth leaves behind his beloved wife, Barabara (Roberts) Bowser, who he shared 68 years of marriage with. Father of Kevin S. Bowser and his wife Pam (Olson) Bowser of East Wareham, and his late son Kenneth R. Bowser Jr. Brother of Nancy Thomas, and Richard Bowser, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to Ken’s visiting hours on Tuesday, March 25th from 4:00-6:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Masonic service to follow at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A graveside service will take place Wednesday, March 26th at 10:00 AM at the Spring Lake Cemetery, Prospect Street, Rockland, MA 02370.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 214 Main Street, Hanson, MA 02382.
