Obituary

Therese Jocelyne Theard (85) was born in Haiti and lived in Boston for the last seven years. She had the opportunity to live on three continents in her lifetime. Therese was a communicant of Christ the King Church in Brockton.
She worked as an elementary school teacher before leaving her hometown to study nursing in Switzerland. She married Etzwald Ligondé in Africa, they had two children. He was the love of her life. Therese Jocelyne had a brilliant career as a nurse. She specialized in psychiatry; she loved helping others. She was in charge of various projects in nutrition and family planning as a nurse. She trained many midwives in the countrysides of Haiti. Outside of work, she had an active life. She loved swimming, playing cards, chess and her favorite passtime was dancing. She was a member of an all women club “Femmes de carrière”. She was a soccer fanatic of the Brazil team.

Therese Jocelyne is survived by her sister Marie-Alice Théard, her daughter Laetitia Ligondé, her son Jean Marie Etzwald Ligondé and his wife Annick Duvivier-Ligondé.
Her grandchildren Lynnalice Gourgue and her spouse Lesly Jr. Joseph. Gabriel Ligondé and Thalia Ligondé. Andrew Ligondé and Angélina Ligondé.
Her nieces and nephews Monique Théard et famille, Carole Théard et famille, Frantz Adam Théard, Sabrina Théard, Pascale Théard et famille, Aby Larco et famille, Franck Larco et famille, Isabelle Larco et Oprah Larco.
Therese Jocelyne is preceded in death by her late mother Alice Hollant, her late father Dumont Théard, her late brother Alix Théard, her late sister Mona Massena, her late brother Frantz Théard, her late stepson Ruddy Ligondé.

Our condolences go to all of her cousins, her friends, the devoted personnel of St-Joseph Manor in Brockton where she had developed great friendships and other family members who will dearly miss her. Viewing in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Friday March 28th at 9 a.m. Followed by a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, 54 Lyman Street at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton.
