Janet T. Eagan, 74

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Janet T. (Turinese) Eagan, age 74, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away comfortably, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved wife of Michael K. Eagan, to whom she was wed on July 12, 1975.

Born in Attleboro, MA on March 3, 1951, she was a loving daughter of the late Alfred “Al” and Augusta “Gussie” (D’Afile) Turinese.

Janet grew up in town, was a 1969 graduate of Mansfield High School and continued her education, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics in 1973 from Westfield State College. Following graduation, she taught math at the Qualters Middle School in Mansfield for seven years.

Janet had worked as a Box Office Assistant Manager at Great Woods in Mansfield, a career that spanned thirty-two years. She was a lifelong communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and a member of the Catholic Women’s Club. Janet had also belonged to the Mansfield Women of Today.

Janet’s happiest and favorite times were those shared with her adoring family. She loved relaxing at the beach and creating lifelong memories while spending time in Dennisport, Marathon Key, Florida and at Isle of Palms in South Carolina. Janet was an avid supporter of Mansfield High School sporting events and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.

In addition to her beloved husband of forty-nine years, she is survived by her devoted sons, Kevin M. Eagan and his wife Jessica of Swansea and Jeff M. Eagan and his wife Stephanie of Mansfield. She was cherished and proud grandmother “Nonni” of Aiyanna A. Eagan of Swansea. She was the much-loved sister-in-law of Gary Eagan and his wife Janet of Mansfield, Brian Eagan and his wife Peggy of Florida, Mark Eagan of New York and the late Jane Jackson, who is survived by her husband Larry Jackson. Also surviving are her loving nieces and nephews, as well as many-many treasured friends.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, March 27th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 28th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
