Cynthia Law Pettey, of 63 Cornell Rd. in Westport, passed away on March 18, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Pettey and the daughter of the late Edith (Tripp) Law and Vernon Law.
She is survived by her son, Bradford Boudakian, and his wife, Cynthia; her daughter, Betsy Couto, and her husband, Billy; and was predeceased by her daughter, Ellen Baasch. Cynthia also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Cailyn and her husband, Ray; Ashley; Seth and his wife, Liz; Mason; Keegan; Lily; Nathan; Ella; Joey; and Grace. She was also woven into the lives of the Strong and Silvia families.
With deep roots in Westport spanning generations, Cynthia formed countless friendships that lasted a lifetime, including a remarkable 84-year friendship with her dear friend, Pat Cassidy. She was well known for her tax preparation services, having partnered in two small businesses, Half-Pence and Primetax Plus. She also worked at the Lobster Company and devoted time to teaching Sunday school, always giving back to the community she loved.
Cynthia found joy in music—whether listening or dancing—sharing stories of the past, digging for quahogs in the Westport River, and savoring a good lobster roll. However, her greatest love was watching her garden and grandchildren grow. She often admired the beauty around her, saying, “Look at these flowers, look how God painted them.”
She will be missed dearly and will continue to bloom in the hearts of those who loved her.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Westport Point United Methodist Church, 1912 Main Rd., Westport Point at 11:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Westport Ambulance Fund, 54 Hix Bridge Rd., Westport, MA 02790.
