Elisa De La Rosa 98 of Fillmore , passed away peacefully on Sunday March 16, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband Pablo Salcedo Magallon as well as her sons Ralph, Joe, Pablo Jr and daughters Rosie Magallon-Sumner and Angelica Magallon.
Elisa was born in Jamay, Jalisco on June 14, 1926 to Margarita González De La Rosa and Pedro De La Rosa. While in Mexico she worked as a teacher and when she came to Fillmore in the early 60's she worked in the packing house at Rancho Sespe as well as running a small restaurant in Santa Paula called El Charrito alongside her husband and daughters. She loved to cook, she was known for her Tamales. Throughout the time she worked at other packing houses in Fillmore.
Elisa is survived by her younger brother Gamaliel De La Rosa González of Piru, her daughters Margarita Magallon of Fillmore; Elisa Casino of CT; Leticia Magallon Dickerson NV as well as her sons Armando Magallon Fillmore; Ernesto Magallon MX. As well as 20 grandchildren, 40+ great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. Her contagious laugh and smile will be missed dearly.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on April 2, 2025 Wednesday evening from 4 to 8pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7pm. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 10:30am Thursday, April 3, 2025 in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 1048 W Ventura St, Fillmore. Interment will then immediately follow at Bardsdale Cemetery, 1698 S Sespe Street, Fillmore.
