Gail Marie Cordero Martinez maiden Gibbons (55) of Wareham died March 18th in the Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton.
She was born in Quincy, the daughter of Pauline (Stewart) Holyoke of Halifax and the late John Gibbons. Gail is survived by her 2 brothers, Daniel Gibbons of Freetown and Scott and Jenn Stephens of New Hampshire, and her sister Paulette and Shawn Torrey of Southbridge.
Gail enjoyed shopping for deals, doing arts and crafts, eating and living life pleasurably. One of her favorite holidays was Halloween where she would dress up and take the children out for trick or treating. She was also known for knowing and sharing her wealth of knowledge making her as resourceful and informative as the “Enterprise”. Her comedic charm and playful spirit made everyone fall in love with her. Her humorous and generous spirit will be sorely missed.
As the matriarch of her family, she devoted her life to her children and grandchildren as they were her everything. She was most known for helping others and was a great provider. Gail was a giver at heart and would open her heart and home to those in need. She was a mother to not only those she birthed but also to those she inherited over her lifetime.
Gail was married to Bertinio Cordero Martinez and prided herself in being a mother and keeping her family united. She is survived by 4 sons, Humberto and Julie Cordero of California, Antonio Gibbons of Taunton, Bertinio Cordero of Wareham, and John and Mandy (Travers) Cordero of Attleboro, 2 daughters, Laticia Lopez of Brockton, and Alba Cordero Soto of Brockton. Additionally, she embraced daughter in law Mandy Travers of Attleboro, Ramon Cordero Lara and others who she treated as her own children. She also had many grand children (25) all of which were her pride and joy including Alisya, Marvin, Jovany, Layla, Christopher, Andrew, Isaiah, Aiden, Deeana, Nyeema, Lorenzo, Qwanell, John Jr (JJ), Mason, Leanny, Elliana, Santiago, Hazel, Yasiel, Jasper, Jayden, Shyla, Larimar, Eleazar, and Elizabeth.
Following Cremation, a Memorial Service will be held in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Sunday March 30th from 3-6 pm.
