Dennis Boren Ashby
July 20, 1959- March 14, 2025
Dennis Boren Ashby passed away peacefully at his residence in Lombard, Illinois on Friday morning, March 14, 2025, after a short illness.
He was born in Anderson, Indiana to Frances Lucille Ashby and Virgil L. Ashby on July 20, 1959, and was a 1977 graduate of Anderson High School and attended Taylor University and Ball State University. Upon finishing his education, he was employed by Avis Industrial Corporation, Upland, Indiana, a manufacturing firm owned by his uncle, the late Leland E. Boren.
Dennis rose through the ranks to become General Manager of the James Steel & Tube Company in Madison Heights, Michigan, an Avis Industrial subsidiary. After leaving James Steel, he moved to Chicago area where he was employed as a salesman for Chicago Roll Company in Lombard, Illinois, since acquired by Roll-Kraft, Mentor, Ohio, both being manufacturers of tooling for the steel tube industry. He was actively working up until the day before his death and we are proud to note that he was well known in the steel tube industry after 40 years in the business.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his brother David B. Ashby of Anderson, Indiana and companion Sheila Shorts.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from noon to 2 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev. Beth Henricks.
Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
