Wilfrid E. Precourt, 82

Dateline: Norton, MA

Wilfrid E. ”Buddy” Precourt, age 82, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully at home on Monday, March 17, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth A. “Bette” (Eddleston) Precourt, to whom he was wed for fifty-six years at the time of her death on February 10, 2021.

Born in Attleboro, MA on October 19, 1942, he was a loving son of the late Ernest J. and Ethel A. (Carpenter) Precourt.

Buddy grew up in Norton and was part of a well-known community minded Noton family. He was a 1961 graduate of Norton High School and served in the United States Army Reserve as a military police officer.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Precourt worked alongside his father and brothers, as an electrician at the former family owned Precourt Electric in Norton. He was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Norton and was always happiest when surrounded by his adoring family, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Buddy will always be remembered as a homebody, who enjoyed fishing and camping trips, most of all in Plymouth. His talents included working on cars, hotrods being his favorite and was ever-so-proud of helping his son build and restore a Triumph TR6.

He is survived by his devoted children, Elizabeth Leonard and her husband Jeff of Norton, Kristin Schleicher and her husband Kevin of Norton, Cherilyn Valentino of Norton, Shannon Pearson and her husband Rob of Scarborough, Maine, Shawn Precourt and his wife Olga of Norton and Jaime Robbins and her husband Jason of Norton. He was the dear brother of James Precourt and his wife Cindy of Norton, David Precourt and his wife Kim of Norton, Dennis Precourt and his wife Nancy of Norton and the late Joseph Precourt and his late wife Wanda, John Precourt and Paul Precourt, who is survived by his wife Anna Precourt of Norton. He is also survived by his cherished 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, March 23rd from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 24th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street, Norton. Burial will be held privately, at a later date, at the Norton Center Cemetery in Norton.
