Obituary



William M. “Billy,” Ogonosky lifelong resident of Medford, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 15th. He was 73. Born in Charlestown and raised in Medford, he was the cherished son of the late Henry and Isabel (Kerr) Ogonosky.

Billy was the beloved and cherished husband of 51 years to Paula (LaMonica) Ogonosky. He was the loving and devoted father of Tiffany Marino and her husband Tory of Medford, and Gerald Ogonosky and his wife Danielle of Medford. He was the treasured and proud Papa of Devan, Jerrica, Izabelle, Tory and Nathan. He was the dear brother of the late Gerald Ogonosky and his surviving wife Ginny and the late Edward Ogonosky. He was the caring uncle of Stephanie, Amanda, Edward, Geoffrey, Stephanie and her husband Kevin, and Michelle. He was the brother in-law of Rosemary Indelicato. Billy is also survived by many loving family members.

Billy was employed by the City of Medford at Oak Grove Cemetery for 50 years and during that time he met many friends and enjoyed seeing all the wildlife that surrounded the area.

Billy enjoyed simple things in life. He had many dogs throughout his life which he loved and family would call him the dog whisperer due to his gentle nature and love of animals. He enjoyed working on his garden every year growing vegetables and sharing them with his neighbors, listening to music, playing the lottery, reading the newspaper, having a good cup of coffee and breakfast at his favorite breakfast spot Paul Revere in Medford, having a good meal and a laugh with family and friends was something he truly enjoyed and watching sports especially all of his favorite Boston sports teams.

Most of all Billy loved sharing his time and chocolate chip cookies with his grandchildren who adored him. He was always supportive and loved watching his grandchildren do what they love in life which includes playing sports and dancing. Billy will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Billy’s family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, March 21st from 4 to 8 PM and on Saturday, March 22nd at 10 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in at St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in William’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to the Shriners Burn Institute, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA
