Obituary

Constance Janet Coplin (affectionately known as Janet) was born on November 17th, 1956 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Anne M Walton and the late Edward Jones. She grew up on Wellington Hill St in the neighborhood of Mattapan, Massachusetts. Janet attended and graduated from Dorchester High School. Before graduating she secured her career at John Hancock working in the insurance field. Where (if she were alive today) she would tell you she spent all of her good years working there before getting laid off. She picked up jobs here and there to support herself and her child before finally settling at the famous Stop and Shop.

Janet was married at the age of 24 to William “Bobby” Coplin. After 9 years of marriage Janet and Bobby gave birth to their one and only beautiful baby girl who they named Vanessa. Janet and Bobby later divorced in 1997. Janet took pride in raising her daughter, with Bobby, and making sure she was the best mother she could be. Janet spoiled Vanessa not only with everything she wanted but with all of her love, affection and time. Janet helped raise many children in her time from helping with her neices and nephews to becoming a bonus mom to her daughters best friends Termika and Jamica.

Janet was a simple woman who didn't ask for much but deserved it all! Janet loved driving around in her Pontiac Sunfire, watching “her soaps” while enjoying a beer and a smoke, taking care of everyone around her (even when she complained), listening to music, and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her loving daughter Vanessa Coplin. Her sisters Renea, Genetha, Letitia, and Stefania. Her nieces and nephews Tenisha, Yolanda, Tyrell, Teneria, Ti-Shonté, and Adriana. Her great nephews and nieces Jasiah, Hakeem, Jasmine and Ziah. As well as her bonus daughter Termika (Joshua) and grandkids Nathaniel, Nylah, Arabella and Audrey. Janet was preceded in death by her parents Anne and Edward Jones, and loving brother Kenneth Walton.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Friday March 21, 2025 from 11-12 PM followed by a Religious Service from 12-1PM in the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale, MA. Burial will be private.
