Lucia “Lucy” Jacobsen
...of Tewksbury; retired dietician; 85
TEWKSBURY - Lucia “Lucy” (Papasodoro) Jacobsen, age 85, a former employee of Ft. Devens
and the Tewksbury school system, died peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 13, at the home of her
daughter in Chelmsford, after a three month battle with cancer.
She was born in the North End of Boston, on June 29, 1921, a daughter of the late Guiseppe and
Catherine (Vatalaro) Papasodoro, and lived the in East Boston before moving to Tewksbury in
1963.
She retired from Fort Devens, where she had worked as a civilian employee dietician. She later
worked in the Tewksbury schools system’s lunch program.
As a resident of Tewksbury, she was a communicant of St. William’s Church.
She was described by her daughter as having devoted her life to her family, especially her
grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Stephen Behrle of Chelmsford; three
grandchildren, Shannon Behrle, John Behrle, and Christopher Behrle; and many nieces and
nephews.
She was also mother of the late John F. Jacobsen, and sister of the late Onofrio “Charlie”
Papasodoro, Michele “Mike” Papasodoro, and Grace Tassone.
Her funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday
Aug. 16, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury, followed by burial in
Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the Lowell General Hospital, Cancer
