Richard G. “Ricky” Hill, 70, of Hingham & South Boston, passed away on March 12th, 2025, after a brief illness. He was the cherished son of the late George & Anna (Norenkevich) Hill, both of South Boston, and the stepson of Gloria (Kiatos) Hill of Hingham & South Boston. Dear brother of Dorothy (Hill) O’Neil & her husband John (Jack) of NH & South Boston, Nancy Hill & her husband Tom Farina of Hingham & South Boston, Kristina (Hill) Walker of FL & South Boston, Gregory & his wife Rhonda (Luongo) Hill of Braintree & South Boston, and Mary (Hill) Kennedy & her husband John (Jack) of Weymouth & South Boston.
Ricky is also survived by many nieces, nephews & cousins.
To say that Ricky was an avid sports fan would be an understatement. He enjoyed anything from tennis to professional wrestling, and especially loved the BU hockey team & often attended their Bean Pot games. Ricky also enjoyed many musical genres; KISS to Barry Manilow to Willie Nelson. He attended many of their concerts and, at one point, owned many, many of their albums, which he kept in alphabetical order. Ricky was a proud employee of Mass General Hospital for 45 years, starting at the age of 15, until his retirement in 2014.
Despite having some limitations, Ricky led a full life, doing the things he loved & never seemed to feel that there was nothing he couldn’t do.
Services will be held at St. Peter’s Lithuanian Church, 75 Flaherty Way, South Boston, on Thursday, March 20th at 9:30 am, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Since we are in the season of Lent, flowers are not permitted in church.
