Rodney Warren Forrest, 77, of Londonderry, NH, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, at his residence. Born on December 13, 1947, in New Brunswick, NJ, he was the son of the late Warren and Adelaide (Bourne) Forrest. Rodney was a longtime resident of Londonderry, where he and his beloved wife, Margaret "Peggy" Elizabeth Forrest, built a loving family and a strong connection to the community. Peggy predeceased him in 2022.
Rodney is survived by his two sons, John Forrest and his wife Emily Whitehead, and James Forrest and his wife Joanne Forrest; six grandchildren, Sara, Jack, Ryan, Emerson, Avory, and Jaxson; and one great-grandchild, Allison. He is also survived by his siblings, Bruce Forrest, Keith Forrest, Dwight Forrest, and Leslie Cucino, as well as extended family and dear friends.
A devoted father, Rodney took immense pride in his sons’ achievements and always supported their endeavors in athletics, music, family, and careers. He warmly welcomed his daughters-in-law into the family, cherishing them as his own. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren and great-grandchild, who brought him endless joy.
Rodney served his country in the USAF from 1967-1970. He was also an active and dedicated member of the Londonderry community. He played a crucial role in the Londonderry Athletic and Field Association, helping to design and install multiple athletic fields throughout the town. His passion for youth sports extended beyond his own sons' participation—he spent countless hours coaching, umpiring, and serving on the association’s board, ensuring future generations had opportunities to play and grow.
In addition to his contributions to youth athletics, Rodney was a strong supporter of the Londonderry High School Marching Band and Friends of Music. He eagerly assisted with fundraising efforts and chaperoned numerous trips during John and James' high school years, helping students pursue their musical passions.
Following cremation, the family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to The Londonderry High School Friends of Music: https://www.lancermusic.org/.
