Carmen "Chata" Apodaca, a cherished resident of Ventura, California, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025. Born and raised in Oxnard, Carmen later made Ventura her home for over two decades, where she touched countless lives with her warmth and creativity.
For many years, Carmen brought her artistic spirit to Michael’s craft store as a seasonal employee, a job that perfectly matched her passion for crafting. Her creative soul found joy in making jewelry, sewing, and perhaps most notably, creating intricate picture collages that captured precious memories. Her artistic works were more than just hobbies – they were expressions of love that she shared with family and friends.
Those who knew Carmen will forever remember her as a strong and resilient woman whose sense of humor could brighten even the darkest days. Her strength of character and ability to find joy in life's simple pleasures served as an inspiration to all who knew her.
Carmen's legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the beautiful pieces of art she created throughout her lifetime. Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts, but her spirit will continue to inspire us through the memories and creations she left behind.
Carmen peacefully entered into God's hands on March 11, 2025. Her memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carmen leaves behind by her daughters Evelyn Garcia and Eileen Zuniga, her sons Pete Zuniga, John Cabral, Joey Cabral and Bryan Belton with 21 grandchildren and 17 Great grandchildren; Brothers Carlos Apodaca, Andrew Juarez and sisters Christy De La Rosa and Angie Juarez. She preceded in death by her Mother Lola Lopez, siblings, Eddie Ortega, Louis Duran, Ray (Porky) Duran and her daughter Cindy Garcia.
Family and friends are invited to Memorial Services to be held on Saturday afternoon, March 29, 2025 at 2:00pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura.
