Obituary

DUDLEY – Antoni Karlowicz, 96, died Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at home with his family at his side after a short illness.

He leaves his wife of almost 70 years, Waclawa (Maslowska) Karlowicz; a son, Joseph Karlowicz of Dudley; 5 grandchildren, Candice M. Dixon and her husband Matthew of Grafton, Amanda R. Coutu and her husband John of Dudley, Michael J. Karlowicz and his wife Danielle of Durham, NC, Timothy M. Karlowicz and his wife Carolina of Worcester, and Julie A. Karlowicz of Dudley; 6 great-grandchildren, Carson, Jackson, Ellie, Addyson, Zoe and Quinn; a brother, Chester Karlowicz and his wife Lucy of Worcester; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his son John Karlowicz, by his brother Jan Karlowicz, by his sister Danuta Brengosewski, and by his daughter-in-law, Elzbieta Karlowicz.

He was born on October 14, 1928 in Suwalki, Poland, a son of Kazimierz and Skolastika (Michniewicz) Karlowicz and was raised there. He moved to the Webster-Dudley area in April,1963 and lived permanently in Dudley for 55 years.

Mr. Karlowicz worked as a farmer in Poland. Here, he was a wire drawer at Johnson Steel in Worcester before retiring. In addition, he held multiple side jobs all his life.

He was a communicant of Saint Andrew Bobola Church. He enjoyed fishing, repairing almost everything and working outside. He loved taking care of his garden. His favorite pastime was spending time with his great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, March 18, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, March 17, in the funeral home.
