Jeanne M. (Desmond) Bold, 94, of Weymouth, formerly of Milton, died peacefully March 10th at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert K. Bold who passed in 1998.
Born in Boston, February 5, 1931, the daughter of the late George H. and Florence Lillian (Meighan) Desmond, Jeanne was raised in the Wollaston section of Quincy and had lived in Milton for many years prior to moving to Weymouth.
Jeanne was a graduate of North Quincy High School where she captained the cheerleading squad. Jeanne then attended Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, where she graduated with an associate’s degree.
Jeanne was an accomplished figure skater and enjoyed living an active lifestyle. Jeanne was an avid tennis player and a member of the Blue Hill Tennis Club, as well as a member of the Milton Women’s Bowling League.
Jeanne flourished in nature and loved spending summers at Wollaston beach, just two blocks away from her childhood home on Beach Street in Wollaston.
Jeanne’s early working career began at State Street Bank until her marriage to her husband Robert (Bob) in September 1953. Soon after, she and Bob made their home in Milton where they raised their family of four children.
Bob went on to chase his entrepreneurial ambitions and Jeanne was quite happy taking on the role of mother. Often referred to as “Mrs. Brady”, Jeanne embodied the quintessential traits of motherhood and her nurturing spirit was not reserved for her children only, but also those children in the community.
Jeanne understood the personification of motherhood as the revelation of God’s maternal heart to the world.
Jeanne returned to the workforce as the Executive Assistant to the President of Carney Hospital and later as an Administrator at the Laboure School of Nursing.
