Obituary for Eva Zimbalatti
Eva Zimbalatti of Ossining, NY passed away on Friday March 7, 2025 at
NYS Veterans Nursing Home in Montrose NY. She was 98 years old.
Eva was born in Ossining on January 6, 1927 to Dominic and Marina
D’Emidio Cretara. She graduated from Ossining High School in 1944 and
later attended secretarial school. Eva enjoyed a career as a purchasing
agent for Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers Catholic Foreign Mission
Society of America for 42 years, where she was known to be a bright,
dedicated and very well respected employee and colleague.
Eva had a zest for life and enjoyed participating in several social activities
which included cheerleading at OHS, singing in the choir at St. Ann’s
Church and with the Old Mill Singers. She was an avid league bowler on
Friday nights at Starlight Lanes in Croton and enjoyed tap dancing, ice
skating and vacationing at the New Jersey shore.
Eva wed Pasquale Zimbalatti on June 27, 1977 and resided in Port
Chester NY for several years before moving back to Ossining and later
Croton. She and Pat formed a traveling club that kept her socially
engaged once retired.
Eva will be remembered as a kind and compassionate relative and friend
who enjoyed the company of others. Her warm smile and vibrant
personality will shine forever.
Eva was predeceased by her husband Pat, sisters Concetta Balassone
and Gilda Esperito, brothers Dante, William, Angelo, Mario and Charles
Cretara, sisters-in-law Mildred Juliano and Julia DiPillo.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews who will always remember
her fun-loving qualities and caring presence in their lives.
Mass of Celebration for Eva will be at St. Augustine’s Church Eagle Park,
Rt. 9 Ossining at 11:30 am on Friday March 14, 2025. Interment at
Ferncliff Cemetery and Mausoleum, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY
10530.
