Obituary

Joseph H. Iadevaia, RISP (ret.) 80, of Brooklyn, CT, formerly of Glocester, died Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Stillwater Nursing Home, in Greenville.

Born in Providence, RI, he was a son of the late Michael and Zephyr (Panossian) Iadevaia. He had most recently lived in Brooklyn, CT.

Joe had served on the RI State Police before retiring in 1984. He served in the US Marine Corps.

He is survived by his children: Michael Iadevaia of Narragansett, Michele Iadevaia of North Providence, Tracy Iadevaia of Greenville, Jason Iadevaia of Harrisville, and Jodi Paul of Dayville, CT, his stepchildren: Melissa LaMontagne of Dayville, CT, Heidi Rogers of Foster and Geoff Weston of Greenville, his 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and his siblings: Gail Lucas of North Providence and Linda Toti of North Attleboro.

After retiring from the RI State Police Joe began his lobster business which he worked for many years. He also worked at Foxwoods as a Blackjack dealer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and moving. He was also known to enjoy chopping firewood. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his dogs.

His funeral service will be held Friday, March 14th at 11am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Thursday, March 13th from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to RI ASPCA.
