Thomas M. Whittingham, 91

Thomas M. Whittingham, age 91, formerly of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the Hope Health Hospice Center in Providence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Josephine C. (Reale) Whittingham, to whom he was wed on May 31, 1952.
Born in Brooklyn, New York on July 27, 1933, he was a loving son of the late Thomas F. and Alice (Bates) Whittingham.
Tom grew up and was educated in Brooklyn. During the Korean War, he proudly served our country as a member of the Unites States Air Force. Following four years of faithful service, he was honorably discharged on June 26, 1956 with the rank of Airman First Class.
An Attleboro resident since 1969, Mr. Whittingham was a retired inspector, having worked for over thirty-five years for the Federal Aviation Administration. Family was Tom’s first and foremost priority in life and he truly loved being a loving husband, a devoted father and cherished grandfather.
In addition to his wife Josephine, he is survived by his devoted sons, Thomas J. Whittingham and his longtime companion Pam Eddleston of Attleboro and Michael A. Whittingham and his wife Barbara of Little River, South Carolina. He was the cherished grandfather of Matthew Whittingham of Attleboro, Mitchell Whittingham of Attleboro, Abigail Whittingham of North Attleboro and her twin brother Alexander Whittingham of Walpole. He was the dear brother of the late Mary C. Whittingham.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend his funeral service, accompanied with military honors on Monday, March 17th at 11:15 A.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue in Bourne.
Those attending the services on Monday are asked to go directly to the Massachusetts National Cemetery and please arrive by 11:00 A.M.
Visiting hours have been omitted and due to the limitation of three floral tributes allowed at the cemetery, Thomas’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the New England Center and Home for Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108 .
