Wilson Keith Wood, 74, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, March 9, 2025, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Mahan, the Rev. Blane Jacobs and the Rev. Earl Perry officiating. Ted Hardee will deliver the eulogy. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 10 AM until the service hour at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Wood was born June 9, 1950, in Nashville, North Carolina, to the late Richard Wilson & Jane Braswell Wood. He graduated from Northern Nash High School in 1969. He retired from Delphi Automotive Systems after working 31 years with Delco Remy and Delphi. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with his friends and grandsons at Ocilla Country Club. He also loved watching both grandsons in all their sport activities. Mr. Wood was a member of First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald and a member of the Sportsmen Sunday school class.
Mr. Wood is survived by his wife of 50 years, Deborah Holcomb Wood of Fitzgerald; a daughter, Dana Wood Bryant & Stan of Fitzgerald; two grandsons: Wood Bryant and Barrett Bryant; a sister, Gale Collins of Nashville, North Carolina; nieces: Melinda & Jeff Cutchens, Karen & Jeff Garner, Joy & Neil Jarman and Melissa Cook; a great-niece, Paige & Rusty Winders; great- nephews: William Garner, Josh Jarman, Caleb Jarman and David Jarman; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn & brother-in-law, Prentiss Brown of Valdosta. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Boyd & Jean Wood.
