Obituary

LUPPI, Irene (Anastasi) Age 98 of Dedham, MA beloved wife of the late Frank Luppi passed away peacefully March 8, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Irene is survived by her loving sister Virginia LeGrow of Houston, TX, her sister in law Mary Gallo of Malden and Irene’s five children and their spouses, Anne Cremonini (Paul) of Wellesley, Mark Luppi (Patricia) of Needham, Mary Manning (Tom) of Westwood, Jane Gunning (Tom) of Randolph, and Ellen Rose (George) of Barrington, NH.

She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Leah Cinelli (Anthony), Riley Manning, Ryan Manning, Michael Manning, Caitlin Manning, Michael Gunning (Gabrielle), Laura Gunning, Olivia Rose and Zachary Rose; and great-grandchildren, Declan, Peyton, Maribel, Gianna, Jack, and Flynn.

She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary (Fata) Anastasi, dear sisters Dominica "Mamie" Spada, Anna Savary and Louise Dickens, brothers Dominic “Mickey” Anastasia and Frank Anastasi and brother in law, John Luppi.

Irene was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at St. Mary’s Church in Dedham most of her life. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Sodality and many church committees including their Social Committee. Irene was a frequent volunteer in her children’s schools and was also a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for many years in Dedham. Irene was a generous woman who loved people and dedicated her life to her family. At her 90th birthday she was asked about retirement and she replied "I don’t feel like I ever did retire. I am a mother. I am still a mother. It is not a job you retire from. I’m still doing that! Best job in the world!"

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St, Dedham on Saturday, March 15, at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, 420 High St, Dedham at 10am. Visiting Hours in the funeral home on Friday March 14, from 4-7pm. Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, MA.
