Obituary

Kerry Bogle — known for his playful sense of humor, gentle kindness, and dogged optimism — passed away on March 8, 2025. Born on June 24, 1949 in Suffern, New York, Kerry lived a life marked by his ability to “roll with the punches” while showing remarkable grit and resilience.

Throughout his life, Kerry drew people in with his quiet wit and warmth. He knew how to make people feel at ease in his presence. A self-identified introvert, Kerry admired those with the “gift of gab” who tell colorful stories. As an avid game player with a well-known sweet tooth, he was perfectly content to play a game of Scrabble or Chasing Marbles with a side of vanilla ice cream. He also spent countless hours on the golf course and at dance lessons with his wife.

Kerry dedicated his professional life to supporting others. As a special education teacher who eventually applied his instructional skills as a corporate trainer, he used his charm to engage any audience. When teaching, Kerry knew exactly how to play an extrovert.

For the past 20 years, Kerry lived with grace and courage in the face of Parkinson’s. His capacity to face its inherent challenges is an enduring source of admiration, inspiration, and pride for everyone who knew and loved him.

Kerry is survived by his wife Eileen Bogle, his daughter Jen Bogle and fiancé Tony McConville, his sister Barbara Smith, brother-in-law Joe Cohen, nephews and nieces Doug Smith, Greg Smith, Aimee Petagna, Brian Cohen, and Justine Cohen, and many great nephews and nieces. Greg Smith is also his godson.

Services will be held by Rabbi Emily Mathis of B’nai Torah Metrowest at Congregation Or Atid in Wayland on Tuesday, March 11 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) Massachusetts Chapter and Jewish Family Service of Metrowest (JFS), organizations that provided vital services to Kerry and others with Parkinson’s and their families.
