Obituary

Susan M. (McLaughlin) Potvin, 55, of Stafford Springs, CT left us on Thursday, March 6th, 2025 .
She leaves her husband of 12 years, Thomas J. Potvin and her children, Kaitlyn McLaughlin of Massachusetts, Tyler McLaughlin of Hadley, MA, and Nicholas (McLaughlin) Bolduc of Sterling MA, two sisters, Patricia Mathison of Florida, and Maureen McLaughlin and her husband, Gary Gaines of Orleans; a stepdaughter, Tyla, and her husband Jeffrey Serro and their children, Jeffrey and Theodore Serro; She had many nieces and nephews and a grandniece. She was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth A. McLaughlin.
Sue was born on March 26, 1969 in Worcester, MA, the youngest daughter of Dr. Robert B. McLaughlin and Therese (Mulcahy) McLaughlin. She loved her family, especially her children. She was undeniably a hippie. She adored the Grateful Dead and Aerosmith, especially Steven Tyler. She found peace in the mountains, lakes, and seashore. She was generous, kind, and had a soul full of childlike enchantment. She did her best to make sense in this crazy world.
Throughout her life, Susan worked as home health aide, caring for others with the same compassion that defined her spirit. She previously worked as a transcriptionist for several local companies, including Worcester Dermatologist. She also spent time delivering flowers and bundt cakes, spreading happiness with each delivery.
In remembrance, sit in the sunshine, put on your favorite Dead song, and let her light shine on you.
Calling hours are Saturday, March 15th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will be held privately at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street. She will be put to rest with her sister, Elizabeth.
