WEST SPRINGFIELD - Marilyn A. (Moffett) Rondeau, 77, a longtime resident of West Springfield was Called Safely Home on Saturday, March 8, 2025. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving husband, Tom and her sister-in-law, Barbara. She was born in Springfield on February 28, 1948, a beloved daughter of the late, James G. and Josephine A. (Gosselin) Moffett. She was raised in Springfield and later lived in Chicopee before moving to West Springfield around 2000. She furthered her education and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Holyoke Community College. During her leisure time, Marilyn enjoyed crocheting and critiquing books for authors. She had show dogs and enjoyed her vacations in Aruba and Europe. She was a communicant of Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church in Springfield where she was a longtime Cantor, a member of the Saint Anthony Women's Guild and a longtime volunteer at the church. She leaves her loving husband of 25 years, Thomas P. Rondeau; her step-son, Thomas P. Rondeau, Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Chicopee; her brother-in-law, David Bates of Florida; her two sisters-in-law, Barbara Moffett of Easthampton and Linda Moffett of Florida; and her many nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. Her husband, Tom, would like to extend his thanks to Dr. Farooqui and his staff at the Sister Caritas Cancer Center, Dr. O'Neil at the Springfield and Enfield Medical Associates, and Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care that they provided to Marilyn over the past several years. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her two sisters, Lorraine Minor and her husband, Bernard, and Marie Bates; and her three brothers, Thomas Moffett, George Moffett and Joseph Moffett. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, March 14, 2025 beginning at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Springfield Chapels (413-737-1177), (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 419 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118. Her Entombment will follow the Mass at Saint Michael the Archangel Chapel Mausoleum, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 375 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118.
