Billie Ruth Butler Griffis, 92, of Omega passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Southwell Health and Rehabilitation Center in Adel. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mrs. Griffis will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Timmy Butler, Terry Butler, Jimmy Crumley, John Overman, Donnie Crumley and Mike Crumley will serve as pallbearers.
Born November 25, 1932, in Tift County, Mrs. Griffis was the daughter of the late W. J. "Billy" Butler and Susie Mae Stone Butler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Flavis "Tate" Griffis; one son, Stephen Craig Griffis; four brothers, Gene Butler, Curtis Butler, James Butler and W. T. Butler; and one sister, Hazel Crumley. Before retiring she worked at Master Craft; and she was a member of Union Grove Church of God. She loved her family dearly, going to church; and listening to Gospel music. She enjoyed reading her Bible, working in her yard and growing flowers.
Mrs. Griffis is survived by one son, Ricky Griffis of Tifton; one granddaughter and her husband, Lori and Slade Fountain; two great-grandchildren, Jake Fountain and Rae Fountain; and many nieces and nephews.
