Louise C. Jordan, of Medford and Dennis Port, passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends at her home on March 5, 2025. She was 83.
Born May 7, 1941 in Medford, Massachusetts to the late Dr Albert F. and Louise F. (Fierling) Gingras, Louise was the sister of the late Albert J. Gingras and Denise (Gingras) McHugh.
A lifelong resident of Medford, Louise graduated from Matignon High School in 1958, Cardinal Cushing College in 1963, and received her Master’s in Education from Boston State College in 1969. She became a teacher for Medford Public Schools in 1963, where she taught 2nd and 3rd grade for 39 years at the Hervey School, the Brooks-Hobbs Magnet School, and the Dame School, retiring in 2002.
Active in her local community, Louise was an organizer of Medford’s annual Jingle Bell festival and formerly a corporator at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and Hallmark Health, a member of the Thursday Fortnightly Club, and vice president of the Medford Historical Society.
Creative and handy, Louise spent her free time pursuing her many interests, including photography, gardening, crafts, sewing, and painting. A vivid personality with a sharp memory, she made friends wherever she went. Louise was particularly proud of arranging a visit by Colin Powell to the Brooks-Hobbs Magnet School and her hole-in-one at the Hyannis Tara golf course.
In 1969 Louise married the love of her life, the late Robert J. Jordan. They spent 52 wonderful years together, residing in Louise’s family home in Medford and summering in Dennis Port, where they first met. She and Bob enjoyed entertaining and visits with their many beloved friends and family. Known lovingly as “Auntie Weeze” by the younger kids, she doted on her nieces and nephews, organizing crafts, activities, trips down Cape Cod, and many other adventures.
She is survived by her beloved sister-in-law, Carol Gingras Sharpe, and her many loving nieces and nephews: Albert Gingras and his wife Rita of East Boston, Brian Gingras of Methuen, Denis Gingras and his wife Kim of Wilmington, Ann Marie Klein of Nashua, Susan Nugent of Reading, Linda Capeless of Woburn, Francis McHugh of the North End, Peter McHugh of New Hampshire; great-nieces and nephews Jamie and her husband Adam, Denis and his fiance Mia, Jake, Steven, Nicholas, Brieyanna, Brian, Avery, Reece, Will, Mary, Peter, Kaity, Courtney, and Summer; and great-grand nieces and nephews Antonio, Valentina, Lucas, and Halle.
