Katherine Mary Finegan, age 32, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 7, 2025 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Born in Quincy, MA 0n April 1, 1992, she was a loving daughter of James F., Sr. and Diane M. (Cotter) Finegan of Mansfield. She was the devoted sister of James F. Finegan, Jr and his wife Logan of Saratoga Springs, New York and the late Fallon P. “Fal” Finegan, who passed away in 2010. She was the adoring aunt of Emmett and Ainsley Finegan. She was the cherished granddaughter of the late Francis and Doris Finegan and the late John and Kathleen Cotter. She is also survived by her many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Kat grew up in Mansfield, was a 2010 graduate of Mansfield High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Wheelock College in 2015. Katherine began her educational career, teaching at Little Hornets in Mansfield, later at the Needham Children’s Center and most recently at St. Joseph School in Needham.
A communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Kat’s life was always focused and centered around family, friends, helping others and never giving up. She enjoyed fund raising for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Hearts for Hope Foundation. Kat’s hobbies included baking and working out at the gym and the memories she created on Cape Cod will live on in the hearts everyone forever.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, March 13th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 14th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, Katherine’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-Massachusetts Chapter, 220 North Main Street #104, Natick, MA 01760.
