Obituary

Herminio Sanchez, Jr., 70, a longtime Lowell resident, passed away Monday March 3 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Morales) Sanchez, with whom he had shared the past 13 years of marriage.

He was born on November 18, 1954 in Havana, Cuba, a son of the late Herminio Sanchez, Sr. and the late Camilla (Carmona) Sanchez. The family emigrated to the United States and he was raised and educated locally and graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School.

Before his retirement, he worked for many years as a medical supply manager, most of that time with Spaulding Rehab Hospital.

Herminio was an artistic and creative man who loved to draw, do little side projects, watch the Red Sox and the Bruins, and enjoy “good” music.
His biggest passion was family.  He loved being there for anyone he called family and took pride in everything they did, especially his grandchildren - he was their biggest fan in all of their activities.

He was stubborn, but in an endearing way. A great man who had a fun personality, cared deeply for his family, always put others before himself and his generosity knew no limits.
Besides his wife, Maria, he is survived by his son, Herminio Sanchez, III and his wife, Penny, of Lowell, his 3 grandchildren, Herminio IV, Navarro and Oliveiro. He was also survived by his niece who was like a daughter to him, Tina Lopez Garcia and her husband, William, of Long Island, New York and his Stepson, Angeluis Nales and his wife, Abby, of Lowell.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral services. To send the family your condolences please find us on Facebook or use this website at any time.
