Marjorie J. O’Brien, a devoted daughter, loving sister, and dear friend passed away on Feb 22, 2025 at Bridges of Andover. She was 95 years old. Though Marjorie recently lived in Andover and Tewksbury, she lived most of her childhood and adult life in Cambridge and Arlington. Marjorie graduated from Cambridge High and Latin in 1947 and from Boston State in 1978 with a BS in Management. Until her retirement in 1992, she worked at Hanscom AFB as a budget analyst and in her earlier years as a legal assistant in the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate. During her life Marjorie loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She took several trips including to Ireland, the Panama Canal, and Alaska.
Marjorie was predeceased by her mother, Helen (Cahill) O’Brien, her sister, Eileen O’Brien, her aunt, Florence Preble, and many dear friends including Jean Morrison. She is survived by her dear friends, Kathy Wholey and Debbie and Paul Krueger.
Marjorie’s friends would like to thank the staff at Bridges for their compassionate care for the past year as well as Hospice Services of Massachusetts.
At Marjorie’s request, calling hours are omitted. Committal prayers will be offered graveside at the family plot at Mt Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA.
