Obituary

Worcester – “Heaven Gained Another Angel.” Our hearts are heavy as we lost the patriarch of our family, Robert T. Kadis, on February 27, 2025, due to illness, with his family by his side.

Bob was 78 years old. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Jane T. (DePaoli) Kadis; his adoring children, Jennifer (Bella) and Michael (Stephanie) and his 7 grandchildren, Anderson, Morgan, McKenna, Madyson, Charley, Carter and Murphy whom he loved and was so proud of being their grandpapa. He also leaves many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, George “Lefty” and Barbara Kadis and his two brothers, George Kadis Jr. and Paul Kadis.

Bob graduated in 1964 from Saint Stephen’s High School, went on to Worcester State University for one year before he transferred to Hampden School of Pharmacy and graduated in 1970. He was working at Walgreens in Worcester when he decided to make pharmacy a career. He received many scholarships to help him through college and won many awards, including the Rexall award for outstanding achievement. Bob graduated first in his class and went on to become the assistant pharmacy Director of the Fallon Clinic. He also mentored students from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and managed many employees and sites. Throughout his career, he was always eager to help his patients and students.

Bob retired when he was 65 years old due to health reasons. He and Jane traveled extensively and bought a townhouse in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire where he loved the beauty and serenity of the mountains. Bob loved to fish, hike, bike, workout, garden, and loved all sports, especially baseball. He loved to entertain his family and make his famous chicken soup on weekends. He also loved his cats.

As per Bob’s wishes, he is having his organs donated to aid in the education of medical students and physicians for research. Also, per his wishes, there will not be a service. Bob will be buried at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

One of Bob’s favorite quotes was, “Always keep the odds in your favor”. We thank you for being a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandpapa, brother, uncle, role-model and friend. It feels overwhelming to think about how we will navigate life without you. We are incredibly grateful for your wisdom, love, patience and guidance. Thank you for teaching us the meaning of “family”. We will continue your legacy each and every day.

Bob, until I see you again, you’ll always be a part of me. Thank you for all you did for me and our family over the years, you have the biggest heart. There will never be another you, so kind, generous and loving. You have suffered enough and never complained. I am so blessed and grateful for the wonderful life we had. You were not only my husband, but my best friend. Rest in peace knowing how much you were loved, and we know you will continue to watch over us all.

I would like to thank the nurses, especially “Mary” and staff in the critical care unit at UMass Memorial Campus for the excellent care of my husband and our family. God bless you all for the incredible job you do.

Memorial contributions in his name can be made to the American Lung Association or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
