Eugene "Gene" Edward Haba, Jr. 67, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away February 22, 2025, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston following a valiant health battle.
Gene was born in Bridgeport. The son of Josephine (Perkowski) Haba of Trumbull, Connecticut and the late Eugene E. Haba, Sr., Gene returned to his beloved Black Rock section of Bridgeport where he resided for the past 30 years.
A graduate of The University of Bridgeport with a business degree, Gene was a true entrepreneur and the founder and owner of American Marketing Group, LLC. As an inventor and patent holder, he was responsible for launching numerous businesses and commercialized products.
A sportsman and golfer in his youth, Gene remained a lover of the outdoors, spending his free time maintaining his yard and tending to his vast garden. He loved to cook and fine-tuned his recipes to the minute detail, sharing the finished product with his family only after it was perfect. A survivor of Leukemia, Gene was an embodiment of optimism and resilience and navigated life with a contagious passion.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter Samantha Haba and her fiancé David Bauer, of Franklin, MA.
He is also survived by his siblings, Michele and her husband Brian Rosiak of Murrells Inlet, SC, Gail Haba of Trumbull, CT, Mark Haba of Milford, CT, and Craig and his wife LeAnne Haba of Franklin, MA.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday March 21, 2025, at Christ the King Church in Trumbull, Connecticut at 10:30 AM, followed by a catholic burial at St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
