GILFORD ---- Thomas Wayne Wescott, 71, of Area Road, passed away at his home on Friday, February 28, 2025. Dying is not for the weak, as Tom was a warrior in a well fought battle against cancer, with his wife Linda by his side.
Thomas was born on November 8, 1953, in Laconia, the son of Gerald and Janet (Morin) Wescott. He lived in the Lakes Region for most of his life, with “the Big Guy” holding dear and keeping lifelong friendships with so many. He was a co-owner of Side Street Sound, a stereo/record store back in the late 1970’s. He attended college at Middlebury. Before his retirement in 2020 from Tite Flex, his career was as a manufacturing engineer for the aerospace industry for 40 plus years.
He enjoyed life to the fullest; traveling throughout the US and Canada on motorcycles and for a short time with his RV. It was never the destination for him, but the journey. He had an absolute love of music, of all genres, and was always excited to share his music library. He had much joy and love in spending time with his grandchildren as he was their “Oompa”.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Linda (Cushing) Wescott, son Michael Tessier and his wife Corilyn, daughter Nicole Tessier and her partner Joshua Lopez, six grandchildren, Dominick, Owen, Eylin, Reagan, Mila and Kylie, sister Diane DeWolfe and her husband Frederick Lord, niece Adriane DeWolfe and her husband Kristoffer von Bonsdorff, nephew Brandon DeWolfe and his wife Tessa, grandnephews Grayson and Crosby and grandniece Lyla. He was predeceased by his parents.
There will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025 from 4:00pm-7:00pm, at Legacy Group (realty office/center), 520 Main Street, Laconia, NH Parking is on Main Street or the municipal lot on Beacon Street.
