BUXTON- On February 27, 2025, Janet Marie Frank (Tasker) passed away at Northern Light Mercy Hospital following a brief illness, with her husband, Bill and her son, Bobby, by her side.
Jan was born in Hartland, Maine to Basil C Tasker, Jr and Phyllis (Vedine) Tasker on August 21, 1952. She attended Bonny Eagle High School and graduated from Kecoughtan High School in Hampton Virginia. She received her cosmetology license from Rockingham Community College, graduating with high honors.
She married her best friend and love of her life in July 1985. They enjoyed traveling, going to camp, hunting and fishing together and rarely spent time apart. Dad says he’s had the same barber for 40 years and she up and quit on him.
Jan worked in various jobs throughout the years but nothing brought her more joy than being a homemaker and grandmother. She loved working in the yard tending to her gorgeous flower gardens. She was known by all as “Grimmie Jan” and her grandchildren where the song of her heart and the light in her eyes! So many wonderful memories were made at Grammy and Oompa’s. She was a big kid herself and made sure her home was full of fun things to enjoy just for her grandbabies. She loved taking the kids fishing in the big pond, always kept the chocolate drawer fully stocked and had a collection of kids movies and fun activities. She had a huge love for Mickey Mouse and her dream was to take them all to Disney someday. In addition to her extensive Mickey Mouse collection, she was a fanatic for anything orange, including her motorcycle and her car.
Jan was predeceased by her parents and two nephews. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, William Frank Sr of Buxton, Maine; a brother Lawrence Tasker and his wife Beverly of Blountville, TN; a sister Nanette Norden (Tasker) of Standish, Maine; a son Robert Cochran and his wife Kimberly of Limington, Maine; a son William Frank Jr and his partner Roxanne of Hollis, Maine; a daughter Melissa Lovejoy (Frank) of Buxton, Maine; a son Kenneth Frank and his partner Ronnie of Sabattus, Maine; a nephew, 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and a cousin Sherry Packard Troy Maine.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday March 13th from 6 - 8 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. Burial will be in the spring at South Buxton Cemetery.
