HOLLIS- “Moe” Morris Arnold Rowe, age 88, passed away on March 2, 2025, at his home.
He was born in Portland on May 20, 1936, a son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Sayward) Rowe. He attended Windham Schools and then began his working years at local farms and sawmills. He also cut ice from ponds in the winter at an icehouse in Windham. He later worked for the Maine Department of Transportation and retired from Saunder’s Brothers in Westbrook after 36 years of service. During those years he also worked as a carpenter.
Moe will always be remembered as a prankster and person who enjoyed having a good time. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, four-wheeling, and snowmobiling.
He was a member of the Buxton-Hollis Lions Club, and the Hollis Honkers and Waterford Snowpackers Snowmobile Clubs.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by siblings- Dennis and Stanley Rowe, and Charlene Gilman.
Moe is survived by his beloved wife- Shirley (Goff) Rowe; children- Brenda Rowe of Andover, ME, Mark Rowe of Otisfield, Richard Rowe of Buxton, and Kevin Rowe of PA; stepchildren who he considered as his children- Cheryl Nelson of Sebago, Scott Harmon of Standish, and Michael Harmon of Hollis; sister- Melinda Patterson of Otisfield; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and many great great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be Saturday March 8, 2025, from 1pm-2:30pm at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Rd. (Rt.22) Buxton, Maine. Following the visitation, a reception will be held at the Buxton-Hollis Lions Club, Rt. 35, Hollis Center
A burial will be held privately in the spring amongst his closest family at Riverside Cemetery in Hollis.
