SANFORD- George Albert Merrill III, age 62, of Sanford Maine, passed away on February 28th, 2025, at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital after short but strong fight against cancer. He was born at Webber Hospital in Biddeford, Maine on May 15th, 1962. Son of George Albert Merrill 2nd, and Annie (Hallczuk) Merrill, George was the youngest of 6 After the passing of his mother Annie,
Bud married to Pat and had 2 more children.
He attended school in Biddeford Maine. He became a father in 1984 and had 4 boys by 1988.
He enjoyed outside activities, and always looking for the next best deal or project to fix, He really cherished spending time with all the kids and grandchildren at family BBQ'S and friendly get togethers. He definitely was a FORD guy!
His hobbies include working on and fixing small engines, 4 wheeling and having an ice cold one with his buddies and listening to his tunes. He was such an outgoing, caring, adventurous soul!
George is pre-deceased by his parents/stepmother, and one of his sisters June Labbe, and a nephew David Adjutant. George is survived by 5 sisters and 1 brother. Shirley White, Chrissy Nighingale, Bernie Dalton, Ellen Hanson, from Arundel. Summa, Grant and Nate from Saco (We can't forget about you Natabug!)
His sons and their families, George 4th, his sons Gavin, Gage Merrill of Sanford and girlfriend Lisette. James, Brianna and their 2 children Mya, Jase Merrill of Shapleigh. Josh, Catrina and their 3 children Dakota, Riley and Makenzie Merrill of Shapleigh. Also 1 great grandbaby Cassius Dupaul by Dakota and her and partner Evan Dupaul. Jessi has 4 children 2 with Kari, Jayden and Jersi of Sanford and 2 With Brittany, Jaden and Kailynn of Parsonsfield.
Caroline Plourde who was a big part of his life for over 40 years and gave him 3 children,
Also the many lives he has touched along the way through his 62 years of life. He was simply an amazing soul gone to soon.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday March 11th from 4 - 6 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. With a celebration of life to follow on Saturday the 15th at Dana Brown's house, 520 Ossipee Hill Rd, Waterboro, ME 04087
Burial will be in the spring at Woodlawn Cemetery in Biddeford.
