Lawrence Joseph Charpentier, 67, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Fairhaven Healthcare Center, Lowell, Massachusetts.
Born in Maine on August 21, 1957, he was the son of the late Robert R. Charpentier and the late Barbara (Sise) Charpentier. He was born in Maine, raised in Somerville, MA, for 5 years, then attended local schools and
graduated from Chelmsford High School.
Lawrence was a man of quiet intellect with a deep love for history and chess, always eager to learn and challenge himself. In his younger days, he had a passion for dirt bike riding, finding joy in the thrill of the open trails. His career took him across Massachusetts as a school bus driver, where he ensured the safe journeys of countless students over the years.
?During his middle and high school years in Chelmsford, he played several team sports in the community. In addition to his work driving busses and as a security guard at several businesses in the area, Larry had several passions; he rode and competed in dirt bike races locally and regionally, trained in motor cycle repair in Florida, and was a rated chess player who participated in several regional competitions. In addition to his abiding interest in history, he was particularly fond of animals and fostered not only cats, but friends in need.
??He is survived by his loving sisters: Nancy Miller and her husband, Howard, of Goleta, California, Cynthia Charpentier and her husband, Aaron Schmoeckel of San Francisco, California and Roberta Charpentier. He also leaves behind his nephew, Michael, and is predeceased by his nephew Jeffrey.??
