William “Bill” H. Damon, 82, of Rockland, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025.
Born on October 8, 1942, to the late John and Alice (Atherton) Damon, Bill grew up in Whitman and graduated from Whitman-Hanson High School, Class of 1961. He dedicated much of his life to serving his community as an EMT/Firefighter from 1967 to 1999.
An avid sports fan, Bill had a deep love for baseball. He also enjoyed spending time with friends, playing horseshoes and softball.
Bill is survived by his two children, whom he adored: John Damon and his wife, Gina, of North Carolina, and Laura Damon of Hanson. He is survived by his granddaughter Tess. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Damon and his wife, Brenda, of Holbrook; his sister, Nancy (Damon) Files and her husband, Ric, of Halifax; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Arlene (Hunter) Damon, with whom he shared many happy years and lasting memories. He was also predeceased by his former wife, Gail (Coleman) Damon.
Donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
A burial service will take place at a later date.
