Marilyn W. (Wear) Sargeant, 93 of Medway, died peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Murray H. Sargeant who died in 2016.
Born in Weymouth on November 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Muriel (Jones) Wear.
Marilyn was a resident of Medway for the past 2 years and formerly resided in Sudbury. She grew up in Medford and Concord, and earned her bachelor’s degree in teaching from Fitchburg State College.
Marilyn was an elementary school teacher in Bedford for 5 years until becoming a homemaker for most of her life.
She was an active volunteer at Minute Man ARC for Human Services in Concord.
Marilyn loved to bake from scratch, enjoyed knitting, and spending her summers in Ogunquit, Maine.
She is survived by her son Keith Sargeant and his wife Suzanne of Franklin and her daughter Gayle Sargeant of Concord.
She was the devoted grandmother to Sarah Dutile and her husband Michael, Kimberly Compagna and her husband Joseph and Jake Sargeant, and is also survived by three great-grandchildren Baker and Brooks Dutile and Peyton Compagna.
Her funeral services are private at the request of her family.
