Obituary

Anna M. Spieker, 84, of Long Prairie, MN, died Wednesday, August 9 at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM, Saturday, August 12, at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Long Prairie, with Rev. Kenneth Riedemann will officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Spieker was born October 7, 1921, in Freeport, MN, to the late Clement & Anna Rueter Schmidt. She was the widow of Gerald Spieker. She lived all her life in Long Prairie, MN. She was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and was active in the Christian Women, Catholic Aid, prayer ministries and funeral committees. Mrs. Spieker enjoyed embroidering, baking, canning, cake decorating and being a mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Spieker is survived by her children: Darlene (Phillip) Mrozek of Little Falls, MN, Romaine (Patti) Spieker of Calhoun, GA, Roger (Wanda) Spieker of Nelson, MN, Dennis (Patty) Spieker of North Branch, MN, Maureen (Bill) Merritt of Fitzgerald, GA, Daniel Spieker, Gerard (Diane) Spieker, Michael Spieker, Rosanne Spieker and Virginia Evans, all of Long Prairie; sisters and brothers: Regina Steil of Eagle Grove, IA, August Schmidt of Freeport, MN, Cecelia Perish of Clarissa, MN and Rose Betow of Sauk Centre, MN; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
