Michael S. “Mike” Yother, 72, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 5 PM, Saturday, March 8, 2025, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mr. Yother was born December 16, 1952, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Elmer Emmitt & Adele Walsh Yother. He graduated high school in Tennessee and served his country honorably in the United States Army. He worked on the production line for Golden Boy Foods after moving to Fitzgerald in 2021, coming from Brunswick. Mr. Yother enjoyed fishing, being on the river or the ocean, and doing yard work. He loved trucks and was always busy working or walking around WalMart socializing.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa & Chad Harper of Fitzgerald; son, Justin Yother & Nicole Scott of Fitzgerald; the mother of his children: Tina Dias of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jasmine & Taylor Harper, Ethan Harper, Dylan Harper, Shaelyn Harper, Justin Yother, Jr., Aniyah Yother, and Nicco Scott-Yother; a great-grandson, Liam Harper; sisters and brothers: Helen & Robert Coffelt of Athens, Tennessee, Elmer & Eileen Yother of Fitzgerald, Ben & Linda Yother of Lafayette, and Susan Yother of Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
