Obituary


Satenik (Kaya) Yuzlek of Watertown passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on February 28, 2025 at the age of 101. Born in 1924 in Gigi (Kayseri) as one of seven siblings, she moved to Istanbul in 1962 and immigrated to Boston in 1982 to reunite with the rest of her family. She was a hard worker, working with her family at Seto’s Pizza before opening Cambridge Coffee Shop where she was famous for her grilled chicken. She was the backbone of the store and of the family- she will be deeply missed.

Satenik was the beloved wife of the late Hayrebet Yuzlek, who passed away in 1977. She was the devoted mother of Setrek Yuzlek and his wife Gulkiz and Cicek Baba and her husband Garbiz, loving grandmother of Ani and Jak Eskici, Talin and Mario Raposo, Murat and Liza Yuzlek, great grandmother to Kevin, Jonathan, Natalie, Nathan, Vanessa, Sabrina, and Dennis, as well as many nieces and nephews throughout the Boston area.

Funeral service at Saint James Armenian Church, 465 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown on Friday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Saint James Armenian Church. Interment at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
