Flora (Lubonja) Konda, 67, of Worcester died peacefully on Saturday, March 1st in Odd Fellows Home. She leaves her husband of 47 years, Ligor Konda; two sons, Koco Konda and his wife, Eva and Eldi Konda and his wife, Anjeza both of Worcester; four grandchildren, Elisavet, Meryl, Gregory, and Brian Konda all of Worcester; a brother, Vasil Lubonja; and two sisters, Kostanca and Arsinoi Lubonja all of Albania.
She was born in Korca, Albania, the daughter of Kico and Vangjelia (Furxhi) Lubonja. Flora immigrated to the United States in 2001, bringing with her a warm heart and a strong work ethic that would serve her throughout her life. Flora worked at the post office in Albania, a role that reflected her commitment and dedication to serving her community. After relocating to the United States, she found fulfillment in her work with food services at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), where she continued to spread kindness to all who knew her. Flora was a woman of many passions. She had a deep love for music and could often be heard singing, her voice filled with joy and enthusiasm. She loved to cook, sharing her culinary creations with family and friends, and found great happiness in shopping for the little things that brought her joy. Above all, Flora was known for her outgoing personality, her kind heart, and her ability to make those around her feel loved and appreciated.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, March 7th beginning at 10:00am in St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street. Please go directly to church. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 6th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue.
