Jonathan A. Gardner, 62, died Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Xiuhua “Candy” Gardner.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Harry W. and June L. (Trudel) Gardner. He had lived in Johnston for most of his life, spending some time in Saco, Maine when he worked as an Electrochemical Engineer at Bath Iron Works.
Jonathan enjoyed woodworking and spending time taking care of his house and yard.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his siblings; Sharon Dias of Port St. Lucie, FL and Jeffrey Gardner and his wife, Barbara, of Dayton, Ohio and his six nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 1pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will follow in Acote’s Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Visitation Tuesday 11am to 1pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Chinese Christian Church of Rhode Island, 333 Roosevelt Ave, Pawtucket, RI 02860
