David G. Cook, 94, of Anderson, passed away February 25, 2025 in Kokomo.
He was born on February 2, 1931 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, the son of Clarence and Frances (Johnson) Cook. David was a graduate of Ball State University and worked as an accountant most of his life. He was most proud of his work as Certified Independent Tax Preparer. He was a founder of General Cage Corp in Elwood, IN and also was a long time employee of State Plating Inc., in Elwood.
David was involved with ROTC at North Dakota State and later served in the US Army, 47th Company, 3rd Infantry as a Staff Sergeant and with the Headquarters Company during the Korean War. He was a long time member of Chesterfield Christian Church, enjoyed the Smokey Mountains, golf, and Pacer Basketball. His biggest joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Monna (Pike) Cook, whom he married on November 28, 1952; his four children, Sheri (Gregg) Doffin of Kokomo, Bruce Cook of Noblesville, Carol (Shawn) Smith of Medina, OH, and Michelle (Danny) Wilson of Anderson; five grandchildren, Grant (Kara) Cook, Becky (Nate) Schmidt, Courtney (Jesse) Todd, Angie Doffin (Andy Hoffman), and Cameron Cook (Cassidy Hurt); seven great grandchildren, Ava and Grace Cook, Kate, Charlotte and Lilly Todd, Raegan and Mila Schmidt; two brothers-in-law, Al Krueger and Jim Winjum.
David was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Kathy Winjum and Barb Krueger, a grandson, Joseph Doffin, and great grandson, Tyler Todd.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 4 PM at Chesterfield Christian Church, officiated by Pastor Ned Clark.
Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Chesterfield Christian Church.
Services are being handled by Rozelle- Johnson Funeral Service.
