Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol (Prendeville) Cannon, who peacefully left this world at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House of Reading, February 25, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Arthur R. Cannon. Born in Boston, on April 26, 1946, Carol was the daughter of the late Tim and Mary (Feeney) Prendeville. Raised and educated in Quincy, Carol was a graduate of the Cardinal Cushing High School in Boston.

Carol married Arthur Cannon on July 12, 1973, together they bought a home in Woburn where they raised their three children in a tight-knit neighborhood. Carol ran the household, volunteered at the Goodyear School for fundraisers and always made her famous fudge and chocolate chip cream cheese cookies. Throughout the years Carol had a home daycare where she helped many working families, she worked at Austin Prep High School as kitchen manager and also worked at the Winchester Hospital switchboard room for over 20 years. She was very hardworking, loyal and devoted to her family.

In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by her children, Alison Mollica and her husband Dave Mollica of Stratham, NH, Ryan Cannon and his wife Jenn Cannon of Marshfield, and Mary Cannon of East Boston. Her greatest love was for her ten grandchildren; Caroline, Will and Joe Mollica, Christopher, James, Ryan, Thomas, Matthew, Scarlett and Noah Cannon.

Carol leaves behind sisters, Barbara Connolly and Diane Ward. She is predeceased by brother Timothy Prendeville, sister Linda Parechan and sister/best friend Maureen Cogan. Carol had many nieces, nephews and godchildren that she loved. Goddaughter Robyn Cogan was always making her gluten free Irish bread. Carol was always known to be the aunt you could come to if you needed anything and was a loyal friend to many. She lost some lifelong friends over the years, Barbara, Nancy and Judy.

Carol and Arthur created a loving home and life. They enjoyed hosting dinner gatherings, card nights, trivial pursuit nights, pool parties, hockey team parties and many holiday parties. They invited everyone to join them on vacation at their summer home in Rhode Island and were both so generous with their time and love. Strong in her Catholic faith, Carol was a longtime member of the former St. Joseph`s Church in Woburn.
